Leadership Development Events
Compete in one of the following events at the District 1 Contest. The top two in each event will qualify to move on to the Section 1 Contest. Top competitors continue to move on to State and National Competitions. Visit Wisconsin FFA for more info.

Discussion Meet: Discussion with other participants to exchange ideas and solve a problem.

Employment Skills: Submit a resume, complete a job application, and participate in mock interview.

Prepared Public Speaking: Write and deliver a 6-8 minute speech about an agricultural topic.

Extemporaneous Speaking: Choose topic out of hat. 30 minutes to prepare a 4-6 minute speech.

Creed Speaking: Recite the FFA Creed. For 7, 8, 9th grade. Can only compete for one year.

Parliamentary Procedure: Team of 6 employing correct parliamentary procedure in a meeting.

Middle School Quiz Bowl: Team of 3-5 with Quiz Bowl about FFA related topics.
The following events are not held at the District and Sectional Contests. These contests are held at State FFA Convention in Madison and limited in the number of entries. For more information, visit the Wisconsin FFA page.

Ag Issues: As a team, members research, plan and present an agricultural issue.

Conduct of Meetings: For 7, 8, 9th grade. Team uses opening & closing ceremonies of FFA and parliamentary procedures to conduct a meeting.

High School Quiz Bowl: To evaluate the basic agriculture, FFA and agricultural education knowledge of high school FFA members.
