Ag and Tech Education Class Winter Happenings

Welding Class

The welding class created these wall hooks with used horseshoes. They sold them at the Luck Holiday Experience Craft Fair that was held at the Luck School. Proceeds will go to support technical education classes.

Poinsettas

Luck FFA grew poinsettias in the greenhouse for a first time fundraiser. They sold and delivered poinsettias to local churches.



Woodworking & Ag Leadership Cooperation

The woodworking and ag leadership classes worked together to make game boards for the elementary students to play at recess.




Donation to Scholarship Fundraiser

The annual Luck High School scholarship fundraiser was held on Friday, January 4. The Luck technical education department donated 3 laser-engraved signs that will be custom-made for the winners of the raffle prizes. Each high school senior receives a scholarship due to this fundraiser.

Small Engines Field Trip

The small engines class took a field trip to Jeff’s Small Engines in Milltown. Jeff Kruse and Jon Christensen showed the students around the shop and educated them about small engines. Jeff gave each student a weed trimmer to work on as their next project. Jon Christensen is the Vice-President of the Luck FFA Alumni.

Small Animals Class

The small animals class created small animal habitats out of newspaper, cardboard, and tape.

Nexen Group Inc Field Trip

Luck technical education students toured Nexen Group in Webster. They learned about the history of the company and the requirements for working there. The tour included seeing the fabrication, assembly, and CNC machines to see how each part is made to the precision level it is.

Nexen Group, Inc. is headquartered in Vadnais Heights, MN, with the manufacturing facility located in Webster, WI. Nexen is a leading manufacturer of precision motion control components, power transmission, and web tension control product.

Middle School Technical Education - Robotics

The middle school tech ed class started a robotics project. Students will learn to assemble the machines. They will learn the programming to move the cars in various ways. Thanks to John Ukura for assistance.



Valentine's Days Flowers

Horticulture students created floral arrangements for Valentine’s Day and sold them. They also designed the vases for the arrangements.



Crisdhome Farm tour

The large animal science class toured Crisdhome Farms in New Richmond. Crisdhome Farms is a dairy farm. Students learned about the dairy farm processes. They also learned about classifying and judging dairy cows.
